Arlington Metals Corporation calls upon its expansive network of common carriers in-addition to its in-house carrier Tisha-K Corporation to transport freight to and from its facilities. These Interstate and Intrastate common carriers play a vital role to either start or complete the cycle here at Arlington Metals. The Sawyer, Michigan facility can handle up to 8 trucks inside the receiving area and up to 13 trucks inside the shipping area.

Our Franklin Park, Illinois facility can handle up to 10 trucks inside the receiving area while warehousing up to 9 trucks inside the shipping area. Through the use of these expansive shipping and receiving facilities, Arlington Metals ensures that your product flows seamlessly to and from our operations into the end-users facility.

Arlington Metals uses an array of equipment to service the many configurations used in both tractors and trailers. Whether it’s a Michigan B-Train (2 trailers hooked together), an eight axle sled (7 & 9), enclosed van, export container, side-kit, slider, gondola bed or just a simple flatbed trailer, Arlington has the know-how, expertise and equipment necessary such as; 40 ton Bushman 2-arm coil grabbers, 15,000# fork lifts, 40 ton C-hooks, sheet lifters, coil caddies, tippers, hook scales, etc. to complete an orderly receipt or shipment.

Quality takes shape in many different forms. If trailer floors and tarps are deemed to be in unsatisfactory condition, the product will not ship on that unit. The customer will be notified and a replacement unit will be ordered immediately. Safety and service is essential to keep our public roads a safe place.

Another area in which Arlington excels is in its knowledgeable traffic department. Through the diligent efforts of our traffic personnel, we can not only schedule trucks for on-time movement, but find the customer the best possible combination of quality, service and price. By using email and mainframe E.D.I. within our shipping and receiving departments, we can very effectively and efficiently communicate with all customers and carriers.

Safe, on-time, quality and competitive freight movement is a necessary ingredient to the success of every business. Here at Arlington Metals we take all the necessary and required steps to ensure that the customer receives nothing but the best.

Barge Movement

At Arlington Metals we are ready to assist our customers to reduce freight costs whenever possible. Whether you are purchasing material from the Pacific Rim mills or the southern U.S. domestic mills, your material just may be barged up the Mississippi River and then up the Illinois River into the Midwest region. The barge freight is the least expensive way to move material from the southern U.S. mills and into the Midwest. A full barge is typically 1,400 tons/barge (depending upon seasonal water levels) and they can travel all the way up the Illinois River even in the winter. Our team of logistics experts can make cost saving suggestions and get your material moved from the port or river terminals and into our facilities for processing.
